PEG 4000 is able to adjust acid-base equilibrium of rubber formula.
It acts as dispersing agent of filler (e.g. , silica , carbon black , pulvistalci , calcium carbonate , etc.)
and pigment , as welll as intermolecular lubricity between rubber ,
filler , pigment and variety of additive.
PEG 4000 used as activator and dispersant in rubber compound which contain lots of filler and pigment ,
is able to decrease even eliminate the influence of filler on vulcanization ,
make all kinds of rubber chemicals spread uniformly and extend the scorch time.
It acts as a secondary accelerator , shortens the curing time ,
improves physical and mechanical properties of vulcanizates.
It makes the compound form a special mesh structure, to prevent the chemicals migrate to the surface.
It imparts bright color of colored rubber products.
PEG 4000 is a good lubricant in manufacturing tires and rubber molding products ,
imparts more smooth surface of the product.
It acts as mold release agent in manufacturing process of NR and synthesis rubber.
PEG 4000 is non-volatile, does’t make the product change to gray, keep mold clean after release etc.
